73 cents of every dollar raised goes to support research to find a cure for this terrible disease. For more information on the Leukemia Research Foundantion, visit their website here. |
Mission To conquer leukemia, lymphoma and myelodysplastic syndromes by funding research into their causes and cures, and to enrich the quality of life of those touched by these diseases. The Leukemia Research Foundation was formed
in 1946 by the family and friends of Sherwin Pessin of Chicago. He was
13 when he lost his battle to leukemia. That first year, they raised $1,500
towards fighting this disease. Today there are 25 active chapters and
more than 1000 volunteers in the Chicagoland area who have raised over
$22 million to foster leukemia research and provide patient and family
services.
